How Our Design Process Works
Initial Consultation / Project Information
- We begin with a free phone consultation to discuss your project and provide a preliminary estimate. From there, we’ll schedule an on-site meeting. To help us prepare, please share any inspiration photos and a copy of your most recent property survey so we can better understand your style and provide an accurate estimate for design work.
On-site Meeting / Site Analysis
- We continue with an on-site meeting to understand your style, needs, and how you plan to use the space. We’ll perform a complete site analysis, which involves taking photos, measurements, and notes to make sure we have all the details needed to move forward.
Design Proposal
- The overall costs associated with the design will be outlined, taking into account the scope of work and the duration required to complete the design process from start to finish.
Concept Design
- Strommen Landscape Architecture will then create a concept design based on your vision, while making sure it meets functional needs and local regulations. Our goal is to deliver a clear, innovative design that looks great and works well for your property.
Revisions
- You’ll have the opportunity to review the design, ask questions, and request revisions. We include this step because we want to make sure the final plan feels right to you.
Design Finalization
- We deliver your finalized landscape design, complete with a detailed plant list outlining selected species, quantities, and recommended sizes. Each plant is thoughtfully chosen to thrive in your yard, and all hardscape materials and features are seamlessly integrated into the overall design. Dimensions can be scaled directly from the drawings for accurate pricing. With your plan in hand, you’re fully prepared to move forward with the installation of your backyard retreat.
